Announcing the ICWA 2026 Collaborative Working Awards (Australia)

We’re proud to officially launch the ICWA 2026 Collaborative Working Awards, recognising the organisations, teams, and partnerships that are setting the benchmark for collaboration across Australia.

These awards align with the international ICW Collaborative Awards, meaning a single submission gives entrants the opportunity to be recognised both locally and globally.

At ICWA, our mission is simple: placing people at the centre of organisational excellence. These awards celebrate the real-world impact of structured, purposeful collaboration — from driving innovation to delivering measurable social and economic outcomes.

Award Categories

Entries are open across a wide range of sectors and collaboration types, including:

1. Public Sector: For any public sector organisation, such as central government departments, blue-light services, health & care services, local authorities, mayoral combined authorities, etc. delivering specific collaboration projects / programmes.

2. Defence and Security Sector: For organisations delivering specific collaboration projects / programmes within the defence and security sector.

3. Transportation Sector: For organisations delivering specific collaboration projects / programmes within the transportation sector which can include air, rail, highways, maritime, etc.

4. Utilities/Infrastructure: For organisations delivering specific collaboration projects / programmes within the utility sector which can include energy, power, water, renewables etc.

5. SMEs & Social Enterprise: Solely for small and medium enterprises (SME) and social enterprises (SE), which includes not-for-profits, delivering impactful collaboration projects or programs.

6. Social Impact & Sustainability Impact Through Collaboration: For organisations delivering measurable social value, sustainability and /or ESG outcomes, as aligned to recognised Government (state or Commonwealth) priorities for community benefit, through collaboration.

7. Transformation & Innovation Impact Through Collaboration: For organisation(s) who are enabling Transformation and / or Innovation
through collaboration that helps break down organisational barriers internal or across organisations and enables people engagement to create sustainable improvements. May include, but not limited to,

  • a specific R&D project;

  • an operational requirement that required new ways of working and / or rapid change or integration of new technologies;

  • a new approach adopted to improve health and safety, etc.

8. Unincorporated JV / Alliance based Collaborations: Open to any group of organisations who are working together to deliver a specific project underpinned by a Joint Venture or Alliance Agreement.

9. Internal Collaboration / Strengthening Organisational Coherence: Open to any organisation (public or private sector) that is developing and strengthening its internal collaboration capabilities – working across departmental and professional silos – to drive change and innovation through collaboration.

10. Supply Chain / Business Ecosystem Collaborations: Open to any organisation making substantial progress in driving either a collaborative supply chain (a system of organisations, activities, people, information and resources) OR a business ecosystem (a network of interconnected organisations) to achieve a specified and desired outcome. The system would embrace all parties in the supply chain or ecosystem.

  • Nominations open: 15 May 2026

  • Submission deadline:   23:59 31 July 2026 AEST

  • Shortlisting: September 2026

  • Australian Awards event: October 2026 (Sydney)

  • International Awards event: 10 December 2026 (London)
